Using gs_libusb, I got homebrew code running on an unmodified N64 without a flash cart. The Gameshark cartridge allows code to be written directly to the N64’s ram. The above video got featured on Hackaday. I was working on getting Linux to boot on an N64, but struggled finding compilers that would work with the MIPS architecture.

Note: A very specific revision of the Gameshark cartridge is required as the parallel port is non-functional and later removed from later revs.

The above video got featured on Hackaday and featured a little too heavily in a popular DidYouKnowGaming video.

I got a pre-compiled Linux image to boot on the Gamecube, but could not find source code for a driver for the controller port inputs. Therefore I needed to acquire a rare Ethernet adapter for the Gamecube. Now that I have one I can try netbooting and using SSH.
